Lyrics:

Well it was the summer of 2009, a time when the grass was greener and the sky was bluer,
with a real sense of optimism in the air. Oasis had just played to a million, and the new Friday the 13th film was still fresh in all of our minds. But in particular, it was a summer that two young youths from England would never forget, as they would head to the Isle of Wight for their summer of love. And as Burnie recollects, it was a summer that they would wish would last forever. And in some ways folks, it did.

Well I, took my honey on a holiday, and Junie was her name
(What she look like boy?) Curly hair and a silly smile, no words could explain
Well all the dreams we ever long for they came our way, on shanklin's bay
We played crazy golf we joked a lot we sent a postcard to a dog
Kissing noon till dawn

We're just, waking up for the summer
Living life as we please
Beatles and fish and chips
Hand in hand by the sea
Wishing the summer would never end

So we went to Coleman's animal farm, and bottle fed baby lambs (ha, ha, ha).
We drove a tractor round an empty field, and saw a sleeping pig
Well we walked along the cliffs to the sound of waves, wishing this could be
A never ending dream with you and me, going on eternity
What a life it would be
(You, me, together, forever)

We're just, waking up for the summer
Living life as we please
Beatles and fish and chips
Hand in hand by the sea
Wishing the summer would never end

We took a ghost tour round St Catherine's lighthouse in the dark
Oh Scooby Doo, where are you?
We had a barbeque around our tent and afterwards,
We lay under the stars
I love you Bernie, I love you too Junie
(Wham bam thank you mam)

We're just, waking up for the summer
Living life as we please
Beatles and fish and chips
Hand in hand by the sea
Wishing the summer would never end
Bye, bye, don't you say those words
Bye, bye, can this really be
Bye, bye, the end of our summer's dream
Oh baby promise that will never be

We're waking up for the summer
Living life as we please
Beatles and fish and chips
Hand in hand by the sea
We wouldn't have it any other way.
