Train to Nowhere

I made a good friend today on a train to nowhere
I jumped aboard just to see what I could find
Didn't know it then but it seems I left all my baggage behind
A few stops back when I forgot to change my mind

We both have a lot in common on this train to nowhere
As if we'd known each other for a long, long time
If I didn't know better I'd bet this was better than being 2 of a kind
So far nowhere has been something of a real find

Without baggage on my back, I must be on the right track
To Heaven on Earth if only in my own mind
When demons have nowhere to hide, only friends are left inside
then Heaven on Earth can be a hell of a damn good time

Somewhere in town we got off that train to nowhere
Just to stretch our legs and find something cold to drink
We strolled around nowhere in particular
But got back on just to hear each other think

We crossed a bridge, must have been a bridge to nowhere
But I don't think that bridge was the political kind
'cause it didn't go nowhere for any particular reason
And the friend I found didn't cost me one thin dime

It's beginning to look familiar on this train to nowhere
I've got a feeling we may be somewhere soon
We exchanged contact information
So we can keep in touch and stay in tune

This looks like the stop I boarded this train to nowhere
Guess that means it must be the end of the line
Better check my messages to see what I've been missing
On second thought I think I'll go around one more time

Without the baggage on my back, I must be on the right track
To Heaven on Earth if only in my own mind
When demons have nowhere to hide, only friends are left inside
then Heaven on Earth can be a hell of a damn good time
