Johnathan dreamed of having his own place, his own face
When it was time he borrowed a suit case, and took a chance on the human race.
Noticed a poster down at the laundry mat, for a one room flat
Set up his PC unrolled his sleeping mat, as he pulled the curtains back
He wondered of this life upon a planet in the spiral arm of a galaxy among billions who could
know what he would find, in his time, in the 21st century.
He found a job outside where the birds would sing, and the phones won't ring
took it all in like a tourist who's visiting, the new alive in everything
got his first pay cheque, made sure the bills were paid, gave the rest away
to the people he met who needed it more that day, and he was not afraid
but thankful for this life upon a planet in the spiral arm of a galaxy among billions he could be
one of the pieces in this time, in the 21st century.
Not a moment passed that wasn't savored, like an August peach
Knowing time went fast he'd taste the flavor, while the veil was breached.
And he'd never miss the chance to pass along how beautiful we are.
There was a time when he couldn't recognize, his own disguise
But he started to see the world through a child's eyes, he began to realize
What we see in a mirror is only reflection, a deception
And the way that we frame it holds the correction, points the direction.
That we will go while in this life upon a planet in the spiral arm of a galaxy among billions who
would know what he would find in his time in the 21st century.
