Simon Paterno is a Soul-Singer-Songwriter, born in New Zealand, raised in Hamburg, Germany.
Early on, he was influenced by Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Jazz and classical music and sang in Gospel choirs as a teenager.
At the age of 20, he began studying the performing arts in New York City and has since been part of numerous theater-, band- and Gospel projects and is currently dividing his life between Germany and the Big Apple.
"With eyes closed, one could think Stevie Wonder was standing on stage", wrote Ulrich Kriest from the Stuttgart Zeitung. Simon Paternoís voice pays homage to some of the Soul Greats but tells - embedded in his original songs - his very own stories. In 2014, Paterno released his debut-EP "Head to Toes", played at the Jazzopen 2015 festival and places as the legendary 'Bitter Endí in New York, where artists like Donny Hathaway, Norah Jones and Stevie Wonder have performed before. His latest original single was "Back to 'happy'", released with a music video.
