SONGWRITERS BIOGRAPHY
Sydney-based songwriter and composer Todd McNeal writes pop songs, musical theatre and short film scores. He trained in the UK at the University of York and the Royal Northern College of Music, achieving considerable early success with one-act operas, classical songs, music for theatre and concert hall.

In recent years McNeal has combined his classical training with his passion for popular music in a new body of work. The results are showcased in his songwriter's album, 'All My Good intentions' (2007), featuring lush British vocalist Emma Lewendon and support from top Sydney jazz musicians. McNeal describes the songs as 'Jamie Cullum meets Joni Mitchell'. For cult Sydney songwriter Art Rush they are 'great songs, well-written, honest and beautiful'.

'Let it Go, Brother', at the end of the album, has a simple folk-gospel style and is presented with just Lewendon's voice and McNeal's piano.

McNeal is currently working on songs for a new album as well as completing the final revisions to 'Grace and Favour', a full-length musical with book and lyrics by British writer/actor Jane Scott, which the pair will be promoting in early 2009.
