I've been playing piano since I was six years old. Though I started in classical (and have a deep love for it), I later shifted toward jazz. I went back to school at UCLA Extension for film scoring and learned a little about orchestrating and conducting. I'm strongly influenced by the standards and the folk rock and classic rock sound from the 60s, 70s and early 80s.
Since I'm first and foremost a filmmaker, most of the music I write is instrumental — for the scores of the films I want to one day make. I've also written a children's musical along the lines of "The Wizard of Oz" and "Chitty-Chitty Bang Bang." Most of the songs I write sound like the old standards. "In All The World" is my first attempt at a pop song.
