Lucas Martin is just a backyard strummer with a day job. He has always been an avid fan of Delta Blues, Folk, Americana, and Southern Rock music but is ultimately drawn to any song that tells a story. Lucas himself began to accumulate stories while traveling around the country for work and school; calling five different states home over the course of the last eight years. It was in a basement apartment in Montana that he finally picked up the guitar at the ripe old age of 20. The limited distractions and solitude of subterranean living with nothing but a guitar, a lawn chair, and an air mattress proved fertile ground for Lucas’ imagination. It was there that his love affair with songwriting began.
Currently Lucas moonlights as an engineer/petrophysicist in the oil & gas industry where his travels continue to provide ample songwriting material. He tries to attend open mics and backyard jam sessions as much as possible and is currently recording much of his work in a ramshackle home studio. Recent songwriting successes include his "Landlocked Hurricane" winning 3rd Place in the 2010 Indie International Songwriting Contest in the Folk/Acoustic category.
Love the lyrics!

A lyrical poet to say the least! Terlingua, USA paints a vivid picture of the broken down south Texas land. Story tellers of this caliber are hard to come by. Thank you for your musical contributions.

I know for a fact, babies have been made to this song.

I would describe the song as quite funny, describing a event, that did indeed happen, and there were many phone calls, from PA. and Texas that week.
My son does indeed exaggerate the truth a little, but this song has brought alot of laughter to our family and friends. He always has to sing it for us when he comes home to visit. A mom will always worry about her
son especially when there is a hurricane!

I would describe him as the songbird of his generation.
