Toni grew up on the prairies of Saskatchewan and Alberta attending a total of 4 schools before her graduation. Her Dad was an oilman and moving was a part of life.
Toni was known in her early years as that girl who wrote songs about everything. The grade 12 class asked her to write their grad song, and she wrote a song for her grad class as well. Grandparents 40th and 50th wedding anniversaries, weddings, but mostly life in general have always been her inspiration.
She's spent her life working at something she loves, and wakes up every day hoping to "one-up" herself. Her songs bring a meaning to her own life that somehow makes the rest of everthing ... ok.
Hashmagandy, Toni's band, formed in August 2009 to play a couple of gigs and do some tracks on Toni's first album with a bar code ... the bands been through some changes and has continued to evolve to it's current line up since September 2010. The bands fan base grows with every show, the natural camaraderie between the girls makes the show fun, interesting and unique. Toni, Carla, and Amy are built for the stage, ready to folk up your world.
"Hashmagandy" officially hit the stage October 2009 performing original material from three singer songwriters: Toni Vere, Carla Olive, and Amy Bishop. Add a dash of percussion and this completes an exciting musical adventure, worthy of a good listen!
Toni has opened for numerous recording acts such as Michael Martin Murphy, Mad Pudding, Gary Fjellgaard, Dick Dameron, Great Western Orchestra and Pam Tillis. Most recently, Toni has opened for Kate Reid, Leeroy Stagger, and Women in the Round ( Kate Reid, Joanna Chapman-Smith, and Sarah Macdougall )
