6 YEARS LATER
written by: AL WHITE
genre: pop
The latest single from GHOSTLIGHT. This song was written while the band spent 10 days at REALWORLD Studios (Peter Gabriel's studios) in the UK recording the album. Al (lead singer / songwriter for the band) was planning to propose to his girlfriend at the time and would creep back into the unique Big Room studio after midnight, turn off all the lights and sit at the mini-grand piano working on a tune to ask her with. 6 YEARS LATER is what came from those private sessions and was quickly laid down to fit onto the album. Released last year - it's had the most generous reception Worldwide from reviews, radio stations, and fans.
The Weight Of Gravity

This song is the ballad out of our 3 a-sides on the EP/Demo 'Somersaults'. And it's probably my personal favourite out of the three. A lot of memories infused for it's lyrics, but in particular it is about having to leave someone that you care a lot for, because you've realized that you're not right for each other.
Satellites

This is the first A-Side from our debut self-funded demo/EP 'Somersaults'. It was originally recorded a couple of years back under a different band name, but after touring with it for a while we decided that the old recording wasn't fast or powerful enough so we went back into the studio and re-recorded it pretty much from scratch.
Breathing Underwater

The idea with this song was to write something really light, poppy, and (hopefully) fun but for the lyrics to be immersed in the dark despair of feeling trapped in a relationship. I hoped the two would balance each other out quite nicely. For some reason people seem to think the brass is fake in this one. I promise it's not!
