This song was written as an homage to the late Phil Everly of the Everly Brothers. I have always loved the close, high harmonies of the Everlys and emulated that sound. The lyrics are about the happiness of finding new love after being dumped.
I wrote this song about two 20-somethings that were stuck in dead-end jobs in a coffee shop and temping. It has a "let's just chuck it and head to the Florida Keys and drink Margaritas" ending. I give the Beatle's "Get Back" a nod in the "B" section.
