Cindy Bear is an award winning Folk/Americana artist from Jacksonville, FL. She performs solo and with various artists at music festivals, special events and fund raisers, and just finished her first four song EP!!! :)
Her passion is writing empowering songs about the human condition and Florida history, both as a storyteller and a humorist. She blends her life experiences and inspirations with positive energy to create empowering songs with hopes they will be a blessing to others.
Her song about Julia Tuttle, "Mother of Miami", won Best Traditional Folk Song at the 2013 North Florida Acoustic Music Festival, and placed in the top 10 for the 2014 Will McLean Best New Florida Songwriting Contest. Other award winning songs include, “Brooksville (Please Don’t Let the Music End),” “What’s Next?” and "The Top of the World." She is currently recording her new survivor song, "Pink Roses" and "The Top of the World," and is hoping to have a full length cd in 2015.
An active member of the North Florida Folk Network (NFFN), Cindy is an extremely versatile singer, songwriter and musician. Her influences include Johnny Cash, Nancy Wilson of Heart, Neil Young, The Beatles, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, and Amy Carol Webb.
