Hometown Saturday Night

"Hometown Saturday Night" is based on a typical Saturday night in a small town. It's specifically based on personal experience, but I think that most people that grew up in a town with no stop lights and a population of 1000 or less can identify with it. When you're young and have nothing else to do, grab a case, call a few friends, and drive out to the middle of nowhere.

Zachary Newton is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter from Kansas City, MO. Born and raised in the farming community of Wathena, KS, his songs reflect his small town values and his connection to the common man. Although he has fronted a handful of rock bands, his true passion is a stripped-down acoustic style, reminiscent of a Woody Guthrie or Bruce Springsteen. Zach plays a number of self-taught instruments, including: guitar, piano, banjo, and harmonica. He lives alone in Kansas City, along with his collection of guitars, an antique upright piano, and two pugs. Check out his Myspace page!
